Can’t forget the sweet babies of 2011…

Babies, of course, warm my heart and help me to remember our baby girls when they were brand new. It makes me think about what a miracle it is bringing life to a new little being. It makes me grateful for the wonderful blessings we all have. They just make me smile!!!

I love, love my job! What a blessing it is to see these sweet little creatures when they’re just toddling around (some since they were wrinkly newborns), then starting school, losing teeth and growing big. It’s so fun anticipating a session when I haven’t seen the kids in a year and see if they remember me, see how they’ve changed and grown – what an honor!!

2011 was such an awesome year! Just a few of my favorites…

It’s so fun to hang out with the big kids. I love the babies, but it’s nice to play with friends who can talk and listen!

So, someone asked ‘who takes your holiday photo?’… we were at U of R and the plan was to photograph the kids and head down to dinner in the fan. The lighting was really nice so I asked a guy walking by (with his dinner in his hand) to take a quick shot of us – so thank you random UR student that photographed us! Did I mention he was smoking a cigarette too? Very talented!

I love it when a session starts out and the kids are not havin’ it. One was cold (it was a little cold that morning), one was feeling a little clingy (turns out a few days later she has strep), you get what I mean… I was envisioning a re-do, but kept plugging along. Then duh, (guess I was a little slow and cold this morning too) I say ‘ what mom, you need to go potty, that’s fine, come find us when you’re done, we’ll be playing here’. Mom disappears, and guess what? You got it. Everyone forgot they had a complaint cause Miss Missy is acting goofy… before you know we really are just playing. YES! I did it. They were being tortured with photographs and they didn’t even know it!!!

I’m starting to see holiday cheer…

Have you seen the holiday decor in the stores? Did you gasp like I did? I don’t mind seeing Halloween in September, but when holiday stuff hits the shelves before October – ugh!

Time to think about the holiday portraits. I know, I know. But just think, you can check it off your list early – so nice!
