true love…
Posted by: | CommentsAren’t they so cute?! Such a great couple… she was smart – July 4th – no excuses for missing an anniversary. Only a few more months before reality sets in (just kidding Brad)!

Heart Strings…
Posted by: | CommentsAs many of you know we do “school portraits” for the long-term care kids at Children’s Hospital every year or so. The unit has grown and there are lots of new faces, but there are also lots of little ones I have watched grow over the past 4 years. Even though many of them can’t communicate with their voices, their eyes and smiles say so much. Each time I visit I know I will take away more from the experience than will the families that receive a few updated family portraits. I not only see these little beings that are happy and bring joy to those around them, but I leave with a full heart from seeing the wonderful staff that love and care for these kids, the loving parents that seem to take these challenges in stride and the sense that I played a part in capturing a memory for them to keep forever.
I do… Again!
Posted by: | CommentsAre they a gorgeous family or what?! What a nice event. Family came in from all over and a few close friends. That’s what I wanted at my wedding, but no, it was a big deal… Anyway, it was such a warm, relaxed and loving evening. I would love to renew our vows. I may have to way 5 more years until the big 2-0. This year, our 15th, we will be on a plane all night long headed to Italy for my sister’s wedding. I’m guessing if I tried to throw in a vow renewal he might flip! I’m sure we could sneak away at sunset to a private hilltop overlooking the villa and recite our vows to each other – ha! Wow, I thought I could finish writing that before I laughed out loud.

Sooooo big…
Posted by: | CommentsOK, I know I brag on the kids out here, but do 2 year olds (was a few days away from her second birthday actually) say their ABC’s and count and speak like a 3 year old? I don’t have much of a memory, but I don’t think so. What a smartie!! We carried on conversations almost. Best of all she understood bribery! Mom, I hope she got her ice cream!!!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!!

Fun Four All =)
Posted by: | CommentsWow, 4 kids. You’d think chaos, right? Nope these guys were so well behaved and such good sports. Way to go Mom & Dad, what great kids!

What fun…
Posted by: | CommentsWhat a fun age. They’re still little, but they’re exploring their independence from you.
Yesterday my 8 year old woke up early and came and got in bed (snuggles are few and far between now so I was loving it). I needed to get ready so I told her to stay in the bed and watch cartoons while she woke up. She said, “mom I don’t watch cartoons anymore” (with an eye roll I didn’t see I’m sure). Stab me in the heart. You’re 8, of course you still watch cartoons. I watched cartoons well into middle school. I guess we didn’t have the little preteen tv shows that are on now. Jeez, I sound more like my mother every day. Because her sister is 4 years older she never really got to watch age appropriate cartoons and movies when she was little (therapist could probably use that against me, huh?) – she always had to watch what sis had on. Oh well, luckily they are far enough apart in age that I don’t let my 8 year old do everything her sister does (can you say make-up?!).
I guess my point is that I love playing with kids this age. They’re aren’t self aware enough to feel weird about having their portrait taken, but they know Miss Missy is just as goofy as they are and we have fun!

Sweet boy…

Well, I guess he’s my baby too since I’ve had he and his big sister since they were itty bitty. Most 2 year old little boys are a bundle of energy just looking for somewhere to let it out. I’m sure he can be a wild man at times but this day he was just wanting to please me and his mom. He did everything we asked, he turned on the charm and personality, I felt like I needed to pay RoseAnn! What a sweetie, I wanted him to play all day…
